Description of our school

Introduction
The Ecole Blanc Léman is not just an institution like any other. The spirit of excellence and success resulting from an innovating and creative method of teaching attested to by many generations of students, is continuing into the future.
Founded in 1923, our school represents the most important establishment of the Riviera and rejoices in a certain fame resulting from its indisputable seriousness and efficiency.
For many decades, the Ecole Blanc Léman has specialised in teaching people of foreign nationalities who wish to learn or improve their knowledge of French or other languages. The Ecole Blanc Léman is also the only school in the region which prepares students for the different diplomas of :

a)	Commerce, (business) secretary, personal assistant
b)	The “Maturité Suisse” (the equivalent of the baccalauréat”)
c)	Toursim and Management
d)	Receptionist
e)	Medical secretary
f)	The international diplomas in the following languages : French - German - English - Spanish

Location and proper environment
The Ecole Blanc Léman is located 7 minutes from the train station CFF in the centre of town and 100 metres from Montreux Hospital . Being a haven of peace, not only does the Ecole Blanc Léman have the advantage of the desired and necessary tranquility for excellent studies, but it also gives a magnificent view of Lake Geneva and the Dents-du-midi (click here to see the location of the Ecole Blanc Léman in Montreux).

Teachers
Our teaching staff is highly qualified and about 80% of the teachers have been to university and use the most modern pedagogical methods. They are all specialised in teaching their particular subjects. Their dynamism and enthusiasm are an excellent way of strongly motivating students to follow their studies towards success.

Personalised teaching
The personality of the student is taken into account and each student is individually supervised by all of his/her teachers. A small number of students per class allows efficient teaching. The teachers at the Ecole Blanc Léman are known for their dedication in following the progress of each student.

Testing the acquired knowledge
The school organises the control of acquired knowledge by regular tests. Two end-of-term reports are issued to the students, or to the person responsible for the student, in December and in May so that they can assess their level of accomplishment and the progress of their study programme during this period.
